In this lesson, we will learn common greetings that are used in Indonesia.
Common Indonesian Greetings You Need to Know
1. Selamat Pagi
This roughly translates to [good morning] and is typically used in the morning hours before noon. You can say it in a whole phrase [selamat pagi], but you can also say it just [pagi].
Here is how you pronounce [selamat pagi] in Indonesian.

2. Selamat Siang
[Selamat siang] means good afternoon in English. You say [selamat siang] between 10 AM and 3 PM. You can say it in the full phrase [selamat siang] or in the half phrase [siang].

3. Selamat Sore
